  COSTA RICA RAINFOREST CAFE

        Drip Grind -

Ingredients: 100% Arabica Coffee

Net Wt. 8oz (227g) - USD$4.49 plus shipping and handling

Our Costa Rica RAINFOREST CAFE is strictly Hard Bean Arabica coffee. A European Preparation coffee from Mercedes of Palmares in the Central Plateau of Costa Rica. Not an estate grown, but a very close rival of the finest estate grown coffees of Costa Rica. Grown at 5000 ft and meticulously prepared at the Mercedes mill, it is our exclusive coffee that we import directly from Costa Rica.

How to Prepare a Perfect Cup of Coffee

  1. Select the purest kind of water available (bottled spring water is best). Avoid using chlorinated tap water.
  2. Fresh Costa Rica Rainforest Cafe. Freshness guaranteed by its special packaging and roasting policies.
  3. Allow one heaping teaspoon of coffee per cup. Adjust to suit individual taste.
  4. Heat the water to scarcely boiling.
  5. Use a French press or the drip method for brewing .
  6. Serve immediately after brewing.
  7. Never reheat coffee.

Costa Rica Style with a "Chorreador de Cafe "

We are well acquainted with the traditional way of coffee brewing. Our coffee machines are quite popular throughout the country, many of us are still using the traditional "chorreador de café". You will find those at "El Mercado Central" or just e-mail us, we usually have on stock...ask for information at costaricatours@earthlink.net.

The Costa Rican method is simple. All you need is a wooden stand with a round hole at the top. There you place a cloth filter to hold the ground coffee (two tablespoons of fine ground coffee per cup). Bring water to a boil and pour it down the filter and into the coffeepot, which has been placed underneath the cloth filter. It is critically important to bring water to a boil; otherwise coffee will loose its aroma and flavor properties
