Our Services
Group excursions
Our group itineraries are all custom-designed, in accordance with the specific requirements of our clients, and constitute the majority of all our business. Costa Rica Tours operates general natural history and cultural tours as well as special interest itineraries for activities such as birding, botany, photography and folklore. We also develop educational tours for adults and students, with topics relating to our country�s outstanding performance in the areas of human rights, education, conservation, peace studies and different fields of agriculture. Group trips are accompanied by one of our professional naturalist guides.
Individual travelers (FITs)
For those who want to see Costa Rica on their own, our staff designs custom itineraries for individual travelers.
Costa Rica Tours works with a number of local ground operators whose tours are noted for their excellence and arranges rental cars for more adventurous clients. We also offer our own pre-designed soft adventure packages. All FIT itineraries are designed to suit the visitor�s interests, budget and physical condition. Private tours with a naturalist guide can also be arranged.
Meetings and Incentive Trips
International meetings, seminars and incentives groups are arranged by our Congresses and Meetings department. Our service covers site selection, marketing, audio-visual equipment, simultaneous translation, pre and post tours and much more.

In Costa Rica in mid to late April until the end of November, the dry weather of �verano� (summer) gives way to sunny mornings, cloudy skies and afternoon rains of �invierno� (winter). During most of this period it is possible to negotiate excellent hotel rates because occupancy is not as high. Attractions are not as crowded because there are fewer tourists in Costa Rica.

Research and Development
Not one area of the country, not one hotel or other service is included in a Costa Rica Tours itinerary unless someone from our staff has inspected it first hand. Our full-time research department keeps us up to date with new hotels, restaurants, private reserves, tours and other services that have proliferated as a result of the recent growth in tourism to Costa Rica.

Itinerary design
Costa Rica Tours will design a custom-made itinerary upon request, according to the clients� interests, ages, physical conditions, time of the year, length of stay and available accommodations. Once the client approves the final itinerary, Costa Rica Tours will make the corresponding reservations. Costa Rica Tours will try to maintain the original itinerary, but it is important to emphasize that due to space availability, itineraries may need to be modified. Changes may include places to visit, hotels, and sequence of itinerary.
Reservations
Early reservations are essential. During the high season from November to April and the
months of July and August, we recommend reservations be made at least six months in advance. We also offer fixed soft adventure itineraries at any time of the year with a minimum of 2 passengers.
Deposit and Balance of Payment
A deposit of 50% must be paid in order to confirm your itinerary. Certain hotels may require additional deposits. Costa Rica Tours will advise the client if any additional amount is required. Balance of payment is due 60 days before arrival date.
Cancellation and Refund
Cancellation must be received in writing a minimum of 60 days prior to arrival. In such cases, your deposit will be refunded, less a handling charge of US$75 and any other unrecoverable deposit guarantees to hotels and other services.
If you cancel after making the balance of payment, that portion is refundable according to the following conditions:
For cancellations received 60 to 45 days prior to arrival, 50% of the total amount.
For cancellations received 44 to 15 days prior to arrival, 25 % of the total amount.
If the passenger cancels 14 to 1 day prior to arrival, no refunds are available.
We recommend that passengers purchase a trip cancellation insurance. Ask for Travel Safe Insurance.
